Or something like that, anyway. |D I couldn't remember what he was actually canonically shown to have said, but you're right, I forgot that he showed up at Sunny later, it's possible there was more in-depth discussion. You're right, though—with all of that it's reasonable to think Luffy could've been assured about his crew's status, or at least as much as he could be assured without seeing them himself.
